The Israel Studies Review is seeking articles for its special volume on the topic:

Law, Politics, Justice & Society: Israel in Comparative Context

Articles should be based on original research on any important issue concerning law and political/social endeavors to achieve justice in Israel. Articles should be about 8,000 words, including references and footnotes, and must be submitted to the volume’s guest editor, Professor Gad Barzilai, before December 15th, 2011.

We are mainly interested in original and insightful studies on human rights, institutional conflicts concerning law, legal cultures, socio-economic stratification and law, social mobilization of the legal field, citizenship and social rights, individual rights and communities, equality and struggles against discrimination, law and occupation, law of war, the rule of law and counter terrorism, minority rights, legal governance amid conflicts and multiculturalism, law and corruption, the Israeli judiciary and legislation, or Israel law in politics and society amid globalization. Articles should include reference to the comparative context of the analyzed phenomena. There are no restrictions on methodologies; they may be qualitative, quantitative, or mixed.

Articles must conform to the ISR Style Guide, available at http://journals.berghahnbooks.com/isr/isr_style_guide.pdf, and are subject to professional peer review by external readers.

This special volume, which will be ISR 27 (2) will be published in December 2012.

Articles must be submitted by email in MS-Word.
